Children's Picture Book

by Joosse/Graef

$17.95 plus tax

Come on! A little elephant takes you to his favorite place--Cedarburg! Join him as he “rides around the block, to see who’s who, to see what’s what,” catches fireflies (“Twinkleflies on. Twinkleflies off. Stars in a jar is what we’ve got.”) and explores the creepy cemetery (“Oldy moldy graves up here. Oldy moldy bones down there. But no ghosts--nope!”) Rollicking rhymes, familiar scenes and a reassuring ending make this a story to keep--and share.

Sponsored by the Greater Cedarburg Foundation, proceeds will go towards the new endowment of the Cedarburg Cultural Center.

Internationally acclaimed author Barb Joosse, author of more than 40 books for children, including Mama, Do You Love Me?, I Love You the Purplest, Lovabye Dragon and ROAWR! is a lifelong resident of Wisconsin. Joosse lives in Cedarburg in an old stone house with her husband, C.T. Whitehouse, a bronze sculptor. She says, “This is my valentine to the home town I love.” Joosse also writes music for children to coordinate with her books.

Renee Graef is a beloved illustrator of more than sixty books for children, including B is for Badger: A Wisconsin Alphabet, the “Kirsten” books in the American Girl Collection, and the My First Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. She says, “This book reminds me of the town where I grew up.”
